Job Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Wimborne Minster
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
About the Role:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide direct support to students with disabilities, assisting them both in and outside the classroom. You will help students overcome learning barriers and ensure they have the necessary resources to succeed, fostering their personal and academic growth.
What you’ll have to do:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with disabilities.
- Adapt classroom materials and resources to meet students' individual needs.
- Work closely with teachers and specialists to implement personalised learning plans.
- Assist students with daily activities to encourage independence.
- Promote positive behaviour and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
- Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
To thrive in this Disability Support Worker role, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
What we are looking for in a Disability Support Worker:
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities or in a similar support role.
- A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to working with young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
