SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Basingstoke.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students, working closely with teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, adaptable, and committed to fostering the growth and development of every child.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small group support to students with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Assist with implementing personalized education plans to meet students' unique needs.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and build confidence in students.
  • Support classroom activities, adapting resources and teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and SENCOs to monitor and promote student progress.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.

Qualification for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
