Salary: £140 to £190 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract type: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

About the Role:

As a Science Teacher, you will be instrumental in delivering engaging and comprehensive science lessons that stimulate students' curiosity and enhance their understanding of the world. You will be part of a dedicated team, striving to create an inspiring and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities of the Science Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics, tailored to a range of abilities.
  • Use innovative teaching methods and practical demonstrations to engage students and enhance their understanding.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking and a love for science.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum materials and cross-curricular projects.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and inclusion within the classroom.

Requirements of the Science Teacher:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, or equivalent).
  • A degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related fields).
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching science at the secondary level.
  • Profoundly knowledgeable in Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Commitment to promoting safeguarding and the welfare of children.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
