Humanities Teacher
Location: Doncaster (DN1)
Pay Rate: £140 to £190 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher to join schools in Doncaster. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver thought-provoking lessons that foster critical thinking, cultural awareness, and a deep appreciation for the humanities.

As a Humanities Teacher, you will create and deliver engaging lessons that cover history, geography, or religious studies, depending on your expertise. You will inspire students to explore past events, global cultures, and ethical questions while developing their analytical and research skills. Your role will involve making the humanities relevant and exciting for learners, encouraging their curiosity and academic success.

Responsibilities of Humanities Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality humanities lessons tailored to Key Stages.
  • Develop students' understanding of historical events, geographic concepts, and ethical debates.
  • Foster a love for learning and encourage critical thinking, discussion, and debate.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging schemes of work and teaching strategies.
  • Stay updated with the latest curriculum developments and best practices in teaching humanities.

Humanities Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification such as PGCE or QTLS etc.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Humanities or a related field.
  • Experience teaching humanities subjects at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge in history, geography, or religious studies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to inspiring students and fostering a passion for learning.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
