SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hedge End
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long-Term/Permanent, Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join dynamic and inclusive schools in Hedge End. This position offers the opportunity to support students in overcoming challenges, fostering their development, and unlocking their potential.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide personalised support to students with diverse needs. Your role will be pivotal in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where students can achieve their best.
Responsibilities of SEN TA:
- Deliver one-to-one or group support to students with various SEN requirements.
- Assist in planning and implementing tailored learning strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Modify lesson materials to ensure accessibility and understanding for all students.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development through structured activities and interactions.
- Support students in building essential social and communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create consistent support systems for the students.
SEN Teaching Assistant Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in educational or care settings or as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
- A qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent is required.
- Familiarity with SEN-specific strategies and resources.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- A patient and compassionate approach to working with children.
- Experience managing challenging behaviour is desirable.
