Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Poole
Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent / Full Time
Start Date: January 2025


Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

Job Summary: As an  Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher in Poole, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, enabling them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons that address the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Use creative and engaging teaching methods to foster student participation and development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching approaches as needed.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and therapeutic approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive and resilient attitude, with a commitment to supporting every student.
