Autism Teaching Assistant
Location: Wareham
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Contract: Part-time/ Full-time
Start Date: Immediate
GSL Education are looking for an experienced and dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful co-educational client school in Wareham.
As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you can have a real impact on the learning and development of students, helping them achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include offering one-on-one assistance, helping manage behaviour, and implementing tailored strategies to aid in students’ development
Responsibilities of an Autism Teaching Assistant:
· Assisting class teachers in conducting classes and managing the class environment.
· Assisting relevant subject teachers in handling student behaviour.
· Supporting pupils with additional needs, such as SEMH, ASC, MLD and ADHD.
· Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
· Providing support to students on a 1:1 basis or small groups upon requirement.
An Autism Teaching Assistant Requirements:
· Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable
· Relevant experiences or training in special education.
· Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
· Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of learners.
· Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
