Advanced Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: £83 - £100 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time

If so, join a committed team at our Client Secondary School in York as an Advanced Teaching Assistant, starting in January 2025. This role offers an exciting opportunity to have a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys and overall development.
Advanced Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create and implement tailored support plans for students with additional needs.
- Assist students by creating a culture of success, ensuring they have a positive attitude to learning to increase their life chances, attainment and social and emotional development.
- Deliver targeted intervention programs to individuals and small groups.
- Track and monitor progress towards life-skill goals and/or EHCP.
- Provide feedback on student progress to teachers and SENCOs.
- Supervise students during activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Actively contribute to the wider school community through participation and engagement in school initiatives.
Advanced Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in Teaching Assistance or a related field.
- Specialism in SEN and/or EAL is desirable.
- Experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with additional or special educational needs.
- A strong understanding of SEN and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning requirements.
- Passion for education, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on young lives.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and effective approaches to supporting students with SEN.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
