SEN Teacher

Location: Rochester

Salary: £150 - £230 daily

Start Date: Immediately

Contract: Permanent, Full-time or Contract.

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and innovative SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in Rochester. As part of a dynamic team, you will support the academic and personal development of children with autism and complex learning needs. You will play a vital role in delivering an individualised curriculum that supports students in making outstanding progress.

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver an individualised curriculum tailored to the needs of children with autism.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Work closely with a team of professionals to ensure that students' needs are met effectively.
  • Implement high expectations and positive behaviour management strategies to foster a successful learning environment.
  • Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.

To be considered for the  SEN Teacher role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Child Enhanced DBS certificate
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to safeguarding
  • Have experience working with children on the autistic spectrum (mainstream experience will also be considered).
  • Be a consistently good or better classroom practitioner with strong skills in assessment for learning.
  • Exhibit resilience, adaptability, and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Have a sense of humour and be flexible in your approach to teaching.
  • Drive and have access to a car

The SEN Teacher role requires a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must undergo all necessary background checks, including an enhanced child DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
