Class Teacher (SEN Experience)
Location: Bournemouth
Start Date: December 2024/January 2025
Contract: Full-time
Salary Scale: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Class Teacher with experience and passion for Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a supportive and inclusive curriculum for children with diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, Disability, SEMH, and other SEND requirements. This role offers a truly enriching opportunity to make an impactful difference in students’ lives, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
As a Class Teacher with SEN Experience, you will create engaging learning experiences that cater to each pupil's unique abilities and encourage both personal and academic growth.
Responsibilities of a Class Teacher:
- Design and deliver lessons that are inclusive, accessible, and adapted for SEN pupils
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide personalised support for specific needs
- Collaborate with SEN staff, support staff, and parents to monitor and enhance pupil progress
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in staff training sessions to remain updated on SEND strategies
Qualifications for a Class Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent SEN teaching certification
- Proven experience in SEN education, specifically with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and SEND
- Strong classroom management and adaptability skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and practices
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
