Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary) for English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £75-£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long Term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are associating with an esteemed primary school in Newcastle that is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant for English as an Additional Language (EAL). This role is ideal for the ones who are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for primary school students.
About the Role:
As an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students learning English as an additional language, helping them integrate into the classroom and succeed academically.
Essential Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant for EAL are:
- Assisting EAL students in their language acquisition and development, both in and out of the classroom.
- Collaborating with teachers to deliver tailored educational experiences that meet the individual needs of English as an additional language students.
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to enhance students' understanding and use of English.
- Helping to create an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Monitoring and assessing the progress of EAL students, providing feedback and strategies for improvement.
- Engaging with parents and guardians to support their involvement in their children's education.
Requirements for a Teaching Assistant for EAL will include:
- Experience working with primary school students, particularly those with English as an additional language needs.
- A genuine passion for supporting young learners and helping them achieve their full potential.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to individual learning needs.
- A patient and supportive approach to helping students overcome language barriers.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant for English as an Additional Language (EAL), you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Provide an up-to-date CV that covers the past 10 years with gaps not exceeding a month and includes all references from the past 2 years, with employer references from all places worked in the past 2 years.
- Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
