SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Spalding

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Part-time

Salary Scale: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Lincoln are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Spalding. This position offers an enriching opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives, offering both personal and professional growth in a rewarding educational setting.

In this role, you will work closely with pupils requiring additional support, helping to foster their academic, social, and emotional development. You will collaborate with teachers to implement tailored support strategies, encouraging inclusivity and engagement within the learning environment.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will assist in supporting students with additional needs in their academic and personal development. Working under the guidance of SEN specialists and classroom teachers, you will help create an inclusive, engaging environment for learning.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individualised support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist teachers in implementing IEPs (Individual Education Plans).
  • Foster positive behaviour and social skills.
  • Help monitor and report student progress.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO to ensure pupils’ needs are met.

Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working in a similar SEN support role is preferred.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication skills, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to adapt learning resources to cater for diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
