SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Southampton

Rate: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

GSL Education are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant at a dynamic school in Southampton. If you’re passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), this is the perfect role for you!

In this vital position, you will provide personalised assistance to students, helping them navigate their educational journeys with confidence. Your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant will be instrumental in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can flourish.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both individually and in small groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans.
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback that encourages growth.
  • Assist during breaks and extracurricular activities to promote social interaction.
  • Help maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
