Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour

As an Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs, ensuring they reach their full potential. This is your chance to work in a dedicated team, bringing out the best in every student.
Responsibilities:
- Support the teacher in ensuring that classroom activities run smoothly, helping to maintain a productive and organised learning environment.
- Work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) by offering personalised assistance, either one-on-one or in small groups, to help them stay engaged and focused during lessons.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to plan lessons and modify learning materials so that they are tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student.
- Encourage and model positive behaviour, helping students develop good social skills and contributing to a harmonious classroom atmosphere.
- When necessary, provide assistance with personal care, ensuring that students' physical needs are met in a respectful and supportive manner.
- Act as a bridge between teachers, parents, and external professionals, ensuring that everyone involved in the student’s education is informed and aligned on their progress and needs.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant would be a plus.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- A proactive approach to work and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant qualifications (such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ) are desirable but not essential.
To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
