SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Fareham

Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work at a inclusive client school in Fareham, where your support will have a lasting impact on the lives of young learners.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be a key player in assisting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored guidance they need to excel. If you’re patient, understanding, and ready to inspire, this role is perfect for you!

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide targeted support to ensure SEN students receive the attention they need to succeed academically.
  • Lead one-on-one or small group sessions to help students achieve their unique learning goals.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Assist in developing and adjusting resources to meet individual student needs.
  • Encourage positive interactions to help students develop essential social skills and emotional resilience.
  • Assist students with personal care when necessary, fostering their independence.

Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is preferred but not essential.
  • A caring and compassionate approach to helping students succeed.
  • Ability to remain patient and calm in challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ, are desirable but not mandatory.
