English Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £150 to £200 per day, depending on experience

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/ Full-time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are presently working in partnership with an exceptional school located in Sheffield, that ishiring a qualified English Teacher to join their brilliant team. This role comes with a rewarding experience to make a significant impact on students' understanding and appreciation of English.

The Role:

As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in nurturing students’ appreciation for literature and language. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive English lessons, fostering a positive learning environment and guiding students towards academic excellence.

Essential qualities of an English Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and educational standards.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to facilitate improvement.
  • Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
  • Provide additional support to students who require extra help, both inside and outside the classroom and update parents and guardians on their progresses.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and develop teaching strategies that improve student outcomes.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • Possess a teaching qualification (PGCE or QTS).
  • Have previous experience teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Have a profound knowledge of the British curriculum and educational standards.
  • A passion for continuous professional development.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
