Location: Lincoln
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Starting after February 2025 Half-term
Contract Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

As a SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to support children with diverse needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and emotional or behavioural challenges. You will assist in creating engaging and accessible learning environments, helping students to develop both academically and socially.

SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised and small-group support to students with SEND, ensuring their learning needs are met.
  • Assist in adapting lesson materials and classroom activities to enhance accessibility and engagement.
  • Implement specialist intervention strategies, such as sensory regulation techniques and communication aids.
  • Foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, helping students build confidence and independence.
  • Support the monitoring and assessment of student progress, feeding back to teachers and SENCOs.
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies, encouraging positive interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals to ensure tailored student support.
  • Engage in training and development opportunities to expand your knowledge of SEND best practices.

SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) Job Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field.
  • A strong interest in working with children with SEND and supporting their development.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, either in a school, voluntary, or care setting.
  • Understanding of various Special Educational Needs conditions, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and Physical Disabilities etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with students.
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
