Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Special Needs TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Lincoln. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of students with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive the support necessary to thrive academically and personally.
As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a crucial role in helping students with diverse learning needs access the curriculum. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs, assisting in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
What you have to do as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN in one-to-one and small group settings.
- Assist teachers in adapting lesson plans and resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Implement EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and individual learning strategies.
- Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence within the classroom.
- Support students with communication, social, and emotional needs, fostering a safe and structured learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide comprehensive student support.
- Monitor progress and contribute to student development plans.
SEN TA Requirements:
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or working with SEN students is desirable.
- A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is preferred but not essential.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous.
- Knowledge of SEN support strategies in education.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff and students.
- A patient, empathetic, and dedicated approach to working with children with additional needs.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
