Location: Lincoln
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
GSL Education are looking for a SEND Graduate to join a welcoming and supportive school in Lincoln. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with additional needs.
About the Role:
As a SEND Graduate, you will work closely with students who require additional support, assisting them with their learning and development. You will provide one-to-one and small group interventions, collaborate with teachers and SENCOs, and help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. This role is ideal for those considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, or special education.
Special Needs Graduate Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEND in their academic and personal development.
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities, adapting materials to suit individual needs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to help students engage with the curriculum.
- Encourage confidence and independence, supporting students in managing their emotions and behaviours.
- Work alongside SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to implement EHCPs and individual learning plans.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Monitor student progress, providing feedback and assisting with behaviour management strategies.
Requirements of an SEND Graduate:
- A recent Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field is essential.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with additional needs, is desirable.
- A strong understanding of SEND support strategies, EHCPs, and differentiation in learning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and students.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with students.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
