About the Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will provide tailored support and care to students with autism, helping them navigate their educational journey in alignment with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This role offers the opportunity to positively impact their development, independence and overall well-being within a nurturing learning environment.
Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:
- Implement personalised care and lesson plans designed by the teacher to address the individual needs of each student.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes personal growth and independence.
- Utilise effective communication strategies to build rapport and establish trust with students with autism.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour and engagement to support ongoing assessment and planning.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Previous experience as an Autism Support Worker in a school or similar role is preferred.
- Understanding of autism spectrum conditions and effective support strategies.
- Great communication and people skills.
- Ability to adjust to the changing needs of students with autism.
- A caring and patient attitude when supporting students with different needs.
