Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Are you an enthusiastic Science Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of scientists?
GSL Education are delighted to be supporting a secondary school in Southampton in their search for a dedicated Science Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a supportive and dynamic team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, ensuring students gain a solid understanding of scientific principles and a curiosity for the subject.
As a Teacher of Science, you will deliver engaging lessons across biology, chemistry, and physics, tailored to students’ abilities and interests. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure a balanced and enriched curriculum, contributing to students' overall academic development and success in their science education.
Responsibilities of a Science Teacher - Secondary:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in biology, chemistry, and physics.
- Develop differentiated teaching materials to cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Regularly assess student progress, providing feedback that helps students to improve and reach their full potential.
- Foster an inclusive and safe learning environment where all students feel motivated and supported.
- Encourage students to engage in scientific discussions, problem-solving, and practical experiments.
- Participate in departmental meetings, contributing to the development of the science curriculum and resources.
- Maintain effective classroom management and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
- Take part in extra-curricular activities and school events to enhance student engagement with science.
Teacher of Science Skills & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT (Early Career Teacher) status.
- A degree in Science or a related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 or strong experience as an NQT/ECT.
- A deep passion for science and a commitment to inspiring students in the subject.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to make complex scientific concepts accessible to all students.
- Excellent organisational and classroom management skills.
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
