Dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant – Okehampton

Location: Okehampton
Salary: £80-£90 per day
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education is looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Okehampton. About the Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 3 to 19, providing tailored support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their potential. This full-time role is ideal for someone who is patient, adaptable, and committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in implementing personalised education and behaviour plans.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to support emotional well-being.
  • Help students develop social skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting activities to suit individual needs.

Requirements

  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory.
  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet students’ diverse needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
