GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) / Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school setting, supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a part-time role (three days per week) for the remainder of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing independence, confidence, and essential life skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement support strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND (e.g. Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs, or other learning difficulties).
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
