Job Title: ICT Teacher 

Location: Worksop
Salary Range: £140 – £190 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: February 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role

As an ICT Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping students' understanding of computing, programming, digital literacy and emerging technologies. Your lessons will not only cover theoretical concepts but also provide hands-on experiences that enhance problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned ICT lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Teach core ICT and Computing concepts, including programming, web development, databases and cybersecurity.
  • Introduce students to emerging technologies and digital trends, fostering a future-ready skillset.
  • Assess, track and provide feedback on student progress through practical projects, assignments and assessments.
  • Create a collaborative and stimulating classroom environment that nurtures curiosity and digital problem-solving.
  • Use interactive teaching methods to cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Support students in GCSE Computer Science and ICT coursework and examination preparation.
  • Implement safeguarding and online safety protocols, ensuring a responsible and ethical approach to technology use.
  • Work closely with colleagues and school leadership to enhance ICT curriculum delivery.
  • Encourage student participation in STEM initiatives, coding clubs and technology-based extracurricular activities.

ICT Teacher requirements:

  • A qualified teacher status (QTS) and must hold a PGCE in ICT, Computer Science, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching ICT and Computer Science at KS3 and KS4 levels, with a thorough understanding of the national curriculum.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, HTML/CSS), database management and software applications.
  • Strong classroom management skills, fostering a structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to integrate technology-enhanced learning tools into lesson delivery.
  • A passion for equipping students with digital literacy and problem-solving skills.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • Be able to provide a ten-year career history with relevant reference details covering the last two years, including your most recent place of academic employment.
