We are seeking a dedicated Cover Teacher to join a vibrant school in Ringwood. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and support students in their academic journey.

About the Role
As a Cover Teacher in Ringwood, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education for students. You will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task. Your role will involve delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing classroom behavior, and supporting students in their learning. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure that all students have the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities of Cover Teacher

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
  • Support students in their learning and aid as needed.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.

Requirements of Cover Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Cover Teacher or in a similar role is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young adults.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one.
