About the Role:
As a Mental Health Support Worker, youwill play a pivotal role in supporting the mental and emotional well-being of students within the school environment. Working closely with teaching staff and the school’s pastoral team, you will assist in delivering interventions and support strategies for students facing mental health challenges. Responsibilities of Mental Health Support Worker:
- Provide emotional support to students dealing with mental health issues, offering guidance and coping strategies.
- Assist in the implementation of interventions designed to improve students' mental well-being and emotional development.
- Support students with behavioural and emotional difficulties, helping them navigate stressful situations and maintain a positive outlook.
- Monitor and track students' progress in terms of mental health, providing feedback and reporting on interventions to relevant stakeholders.
- Promote positive mental health across the school by assisting in the creation and delivery of well-being initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
What We’re Looking For: To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience working in a mental health support role or within an educational setting, preferably supporting students with mental health challenges.
- A qualification in Health and Social Care, Psychology, or a related field is highly desirable.
- A calm, patient and empathetic nature, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the sensitivity required in working with students who may be experiencing distress.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge of mental health issues that may affect young people and the ability to implement appropriate support strategies.
- A proactive approach to supporting students in both academic and personal development.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and constructively manage challenging situations.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
