Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

About the role:

As an Educational Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting students with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement necessary to thrive academically and socially. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams, you will provide personalised support to pupils who require extra assistance in their learning.

Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with diverse learning needs, including SEN and SEMH requirements.
  • Assist in delivering tailored interventions and adapting resources to meet individual learning styles.
  • Support pupils in building confidence, resilience and independence in both academic and social settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Foster an inclusive and nurturing school environment, promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help students manage transitions, overcome barriers to learning and develop essential life skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress, offering feedback and recommendations to teaching staff.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Previous experience as an Educational Support Worker is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in Education, Childcare, Psychology, or Special Educational Needs (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices and inclusive education.
  • A patient, adaptable and compassionate approach to supporting young learners.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a school setting.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
