Maths Teacher
Location: Southampton
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / After Easter 2025
Contract Type: Full Time / Permanent

GSL Education are seeking a skilled Maths Teacher to join a dynamic school in Southampton. As a Teacher of Maths, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting students in Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and preparing them for GCSE and A-Level exams. You will be expected to inspire a love for Maths, making the subject accessible and enjoyable for all students. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the curriculum, excellent classroom management skills, and a desire to help students achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons that cater to various learning abilities.
- Teach Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5 students, ensuring they understand core mathematical concepts.
- Use practical examples and problem-solving tasks to enhance student understanding.
- Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring they meet or exceed target grades.
- Identify and address individual learning needs, providing additional support where necessary.
- Encourage critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.
- Use data-driven assessments to track progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Work closely with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to ensure a collaborative learning approach.
- Promote a positive learning environment where students feel motivated and confident in their abilities.
- Implement effective classroom behaviour management strategies to maintain high levels of engagement.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary school level.
- Strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to teach GCSE and A-Level Maths.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A passion for making Maths engaging and accessible for all students.
