Humanities Teacher

Location: Southampton
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / After Easter 2025
Contract Type: Full Time / Permanent

GSL Education are delighted to be working with a dynamic school in the Southampton area, seeking an enthusiastic teacher to inspire and engage students across History, Geography, and Religious Studies. As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering an engaging and well-structured curriculum, ensuring that students gain the knowledge and skills necessary for academic success. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment.

As a Teacher of Humanities, what you’ll have to do:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in History, Geography, or Religious Studies, ensuring they align with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across Key Stages, fostering curiosity and critical thinking among students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to aid development.
  • Differentiate lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation.
  • Work closely with colleagues and leadership teams to continuously improve teaching strategies.
  • Promote good behaviour and classroom management in line with the school's policies.
  • Support students in preparing for exams, coursework, and assessments.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanities or a related field.
  • Experience as a Humanities Teacher is essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge in History, Geography, or Religious Studies.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for inspiring students and delivering high-quality education.
