Teaching Assistant
Location: Newham
Salary: £90-£100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Hours: 8.15 am - 4 pm
Contract Type: Full-time and Long-term
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are excited to offer the opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant in a wonderful school in Newham. You will play a vital role in providing support for children with complex needs, using a child-centred approach to enhance their learning and well-being.
In this role, you will work directly with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other complex needs. As a Teaching Assistant (TA), your focus will be on providing one-to-one support, assisting in daily activities, and ensuring that students are comfortable and engaged in their learning environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who has experience working with children with ASD and is looking to further their career in an inclusive and supportive school environment.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with ASD and complex needs, adapting learning strategies to meet individual requirements.
- Implement tailored activities to encourage personal and academic development.
- Use a child-centred approach to promote positive behaviour and ensure students’ emotional and social well-being.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including nappy changing where necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and adapt lesson plans.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and carers to report on progress and concerns.
Teaching Assistant (TA) Requirements:
- Experience working with children with ASD or complex needs.
- Ability to provide support on a 1:1 basis and use a child-centred approach.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Able to support with personal care tasks, including nappy changing.
- A caring and empathetic attitude towards supporting students with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
