Mental Health Teaching Assistant
Location: Wareham
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and proactive Mental Health Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a school in Wareham. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support to overcome challenges, build resilience, and thrive in their education.
Responsibilities of a Mental Health Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with mental health needs.
- Assist in creating and implementing tailored strategies to support students’ emotional well-being and learning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support students' progress.
- Offer encouragement and guidance to help students build confidence and self-esteem.
Requirements of a Mental Health Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people with mental health needs (preferred).
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
