SEN Teacher
Location: Poole
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Contract Type: Full Time/Permanent
Start Date: Immediate / April 2025

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing a positive learning environment, encouraging personal growth, and fostering resilience in every student. Working alongside a collaborative team of professionals, you will have the resources and support needed to deliver a personalised curriculum that inspires confidence and achievement.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons that address the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Create a classroom atmosphere that encourages engagement and nurtures emotional well-being.
  • Use innovative and adaptable teaching methods to support students with Autism, ADHD, and other additional needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and other professionals to ensure each student’s individual learning goals are met.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, making adjustments to lesson plans where necessary.
  • Maintain open and positive communication with parents and carers to involve them in their child’s learning journey.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and promote a safe and inclusive educational environment.

Special Needs Teacher Qualification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs as a SEN Teacher.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education or in a similar field.
  • A strong understanding of strategies and tools for supporting SEN students effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills, with a passion for making a difference.
  • A commitment to fostering positive outcomes for all learners.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
