Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Christchurch
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Contract Type: Full Time/Permanent
Start Date: Immediate / April 2025

GSL Education are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher to join schools in Christchurch. This role is perfect for someone with a strong commitment to helping students overcome challenges and achieve their potential in a supportive and nurturing setting.

As an SEN (Special Education Needs) Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering personalised education plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring every student thrives both academically and emotionally. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will foster an engaging and inclusive environment where students feel valued and motivated.

Special Needs Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement creative and differentiated lesson plans based on students’ unique needs.
  • Support students with Autism, ADHD, and other SEN requirements by using appropriate strategies and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and specialists to provide targeted interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold school policies, particularly safeguarding protocols.
  • Promote emotional well-being and a growth mindset in students.

SEN Teacher Skills & Qualification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education or in a similar field.
  • Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN as a SEN Teacher.
  • Strong knowledge of effective teaching strategies for SEN students.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a supportive and positive learning environment.
