Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Totton
Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the role:
In the role of a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a vital role in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. Working closely with teachers and SENCOs, you will provide tailored assistance to students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties and other additional needs. Your role will be instrumental in helping students build confidence, enhance social interactions and achieve academic success.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction to students with SEN.
- Work closely with classroom Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Provide support and guidance to Teaching Assistants and other staff working with SEN students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress and needs.
- Stay informed about current best practices and developments in special education.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
- A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Knowledge of various SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and Speech and Language difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
