Role: Behaviour Support Worker

Location: Poole

Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behaviour Support Worker to join a supportive school in Poole. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with students who may face challenges in managing their behaviour, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive both academically and socially.

Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Worker:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with behavioural challenges, helping them engage positively in their education.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to develop and deliver personalised behaviour support plans.
  • Foster positive relationships with students to build trust and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Assist students in developing social and emotional skills to support their overall well-being.
  • Monitor and record behavioural progress, sharing updates with the teaching team and parents as needed.
  • Support students during classroom activities, transitions, and break times to ensure their safety and inclusion.

Requirements of a Behaviour Support Worker:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges (preferred).
  • Patience, resilience, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to various situations.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of students.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one.
