GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join schools in Bournemouth. Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Contract Type: Full Time/Permanent
Start Date: Immediate / April 2025

About the Role:

As a Special Education Needs Teacher, you will design and deliver tailored lessons that cater to the unique learning needs of students. Working closely with other staff and parents, you will create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons according to individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and development.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to provide targeted interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Promote students’ emotional well-being and resilience alongside their academic progress.

Requirements that we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs as a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher is essential.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education or in a similar field.
  • Knowledge of strategies to support children with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, or other SEN needs.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a creative approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
