About the Role/Role Overview
As a School Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of the school. You will be responsible for managing administrative processes, coordinating school activities and providing essential support to staff, students and parents. Your role will require excellent organisational and communication skills, alongside the ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality in a busy school environment.
Responsibilities of the School Admin:
- Manage front desk operations, acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents and staff.
- Oversee attendance records, admissions and pupil data management using school systems (e.g. SIMS).
- Handle correspondence, including emails, phone calls and letters, ensuring timely responses.
- Support school leadership with administrative duties, including scheduling meetings and preparing reports.
- Assist with financial administration, such as processing invoices and maintaining school budgets.
- Coordinate school events, trips and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure all safeguarding and compliance procedures are adhered to, including DBS checks and staff records.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Requirements of the School Admin: To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience as a School Administrator or in a similar administrative role within an educational setting.
- Proficiency in school management software such as SIMS (School Information Management System) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and welcoming demeanour.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment.
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy when managing school records and documentation.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
