GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a welcoming school in Hayling Island. This role is ideal for someone who values inclusivity and enjoys working closely with children to help them overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
Your Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students, helping them engage with their learning and develop the confidence to succeed. You’ll be a key part of the school’s commitment to nurturing every child, academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Offer tailored support to students with SEN in a classroom setting, ensuring they can access learning effectively.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources for individual needs.
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage their confidence and engagement.
- Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive behaviour and interactions.
- Monitor student progress and share insights with the teaching team to inform personalised strategies.
- Assist students during break times, transitions, and extracurricular activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
What We’re Looking For:
We welcome applications from individuals with a genuine interest in supporting students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is advantageous but not required.
- A basic understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students and staff.
- A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to working with children of varying abilities.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are beneficial but not mandatory.
