GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a welcoming school in Hayling Island. Your Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students, helping them engage with their learning and develop the confidence to succeed. You’ll be a key part of the school’s commitment to nurturing every child, academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Offer tailored support to students with SEN in a classroom setting, ensuring they can access learning effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources for individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage their confidence and engagement.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive behaviour and interactions.
  • Monitor student progress and share insights with the teaching team to inform personalised strategies.
  • Assist students during break times, transitions, and extracurricular activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

What We’re Looking For:
We welcome applications from individuals with a genuine interest in supporting students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is advantageous but not required.
  • A basic understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students and staff.
  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to working with children of varying abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are beneficial but not mandatory.
