Job Title: Secondary ECT (Early Career Teacher)
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £150 - £220 per day (Depending on experience).
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long-Term

About the Role:

As a Secondary Early Career Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in your specialist subject area, ensuring that all students are supported in achieving their full potential. You will work closely with experienced teachers and mentors who will guide and support you throughout your induction year.

Responsibilities of the Secondary ECT:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons following the national curriculum.
  • Differentiate teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic development.
  • Foster a positive and stimulating learning environment, encouraging student participation and enthusiasm.
  • Develop strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to promote a collaborative learning culture.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a respectful and safe learning space.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, including mentoring, training sessions, and collaborative planning.

Requirements of the Secondary ECT:

  • A Qualified Teaching Status (QTS), or equivalent teaching qualification in a secondary subject area.
  • Experience as an Early Career Teacher in a secondary school setting, with the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet student needs.
  • A strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching, with a commitment to fostering academic excellence.
  • The ability to inspire and engage students through creative and interactive teaching methods.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • A proactive and reflective approach to teaching, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
