SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Fareham

Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Fareham. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive and nurturing environment where every student is empowered to succeed.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide support to students with a range of SEN needs, both individually and in small groups.
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) to support students’ development and learning.
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment where students feel safe and supported.
  • Encourage students to develop independence and confidence in their learning.
  • Help with personal care tasks, where required, with dignity and respect.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure students’ needs are met.

Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is beneficial but not essential.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s education and well-being.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
