SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Southampton

Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Job Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming school in Southampton. This exciting role provides a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting students with additional needs to thrive and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of tailored lessons and activities to support learning and development.
  • Helping students with their personal care, if required, and ensuring they are comfortable and engaged.
  • Promoting a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff to monitor and track student progress.

Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with students with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
