SEN Support Worker

Location: Wareham

Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Support Worker to join a supportive school in Wareham. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide essential assistance to students, helping them overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities of an SEN Support Worker:

  • Supporting students with SEN in their academic and personal development.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans to meet individual needs.
  • Building positive relationships with students, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Providing emotional and behavioral support to ensure students remain engaged and motivated.
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility needs, where required, with dignity and respect.

Requirements of an SEN Support Worker:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students thrive.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
