Disability Support Worker

Location: Bovington

Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive Disability Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Bovington. This is an incredible opportunity to work in a nurturing environment where you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities, helping them develop independence, confidence, and key life skills.

Responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker:

  • Providing tailored support to students with physical, learning, or developmental disabilities.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and encouraging active engagement in learning.
  • Supporting students with personal care tasks, where required, in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with students, fostering trust and confidence.
  • Monitoring student progress and working closely with teaching staff and parents to ensure individual needs are met.

Requirements of a Disability Support Worker:

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or additional needs is desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
