Job Title: SEN Teacher - Behaviour Specialism
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / April 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you passionate about transforming the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have expertise in managing and supporting students with behavioural challenges? If so, GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher specialising in behaviour, in a vibrant and forward-thinking school in Bournemouth. 

As a SEN Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting students who experience Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. You will create a nurturing and structured learning environment tailored to their unique needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored and engaging lessons to students with SEN and behavioural needs, following individualised learning plans.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on the progress and achievements of students.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to foster a calm and productive environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and strategies to support positive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students and stakeholders.
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to teaching.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
