Sports Coach
Location: Worksop
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 to £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

If so, GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coaches to work in secondary schools across Worksop. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in sports coaching who are eager to share their passion for sports and make a difference in students' lives.

As a Sports Coach, you will play a key role in supporting the physical education curriculum, organising and delivering engaging sports sessions, and promoting teamwork and physical fitness among students. You will work closely with PE staff to foster a positive sporting culture and inspire students to achieve their potential in sports and beyond.

Responsibilities of a Sports Coach:

  • Plan and deliver engaging sports sessions and activities that align with the school’s PE curriculum.
  • Provide coaching and support to students in a range of sports, fostering teamwork, skill development, and a love for physical activity.
  • Assist in organising and supervising sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
  • Encourage and motivate students to participate actively in physical education and sports.
  • Support students in developing physical skills, discipline, and confidence both on and off the field.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during sports activities, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Promote an inclusive and positive environment that caters to students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support overall student development and achievement.

Sports Coach Qualification:

  • Experience in coaching or delivering sports activities, preferably within schools or youth settings.
  • A relevant coaching qualification or degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Knowledge of various sports and physical activities, including their rules and techniques.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • A commitment to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and positive attitudes in students.
  • Adaptability, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to supporting students’ overall development.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply for one.
