Autism Support Worker

Location: Poole

Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a supportive school in Poole. Responsibilities of an Autism Support Worker:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with autism, ensuring they receive the appropriate learning support.
  • Implement individualized learning plans to help students achieve their goals.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and supportive.
  • Foster independence, self-confidence, and social skills in students with autism.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents.

Requirements of an Autism Support Worker:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with autism is highly desirable.
  • A patient, understanding, and flexible approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
