GSL Education are seeking a reliable and attentive Exam Invigilator to join schools in Southampton. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that examinations are conducted in a fair, secure, and organised manner, providing students with a supportive environment to perform at their best.
As an Exam Invigilator, you will work under the direction of the Exams Officer to oversee the administration of exams and ensure all exam procedures are followed according to the guidelines. You will supervise students during the exam, ensuring they remain focused and compliant with exam rules. As an Examination Invigilator, what you’ll have to do:
- Set up the exam room according to the specific requirements.
- Supervise students throughout the exam, ensuring they follow all rules and procedures.
- Ensure the exam environment remains calm, secure, and conducive to concentration.
- Hand out and collect exam papers and materials, ensuring they are distributed correctly.
- Monitor students for signs of cheating or misconduct and report any issues.
- Provide assistance to students with disabilities or additional needs as directed.
- Ensure the safe and secure collection and storage of completed exam papers.
- Support the Exams Officer in any other tasks related to the exam process.
What we need for an Exam Invigilator:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role as an Exam Invigilator is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to exam protocols.
- Professional and reliable with a strong commitment to maintaining exam integrity.
To thrive in this role, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
