Complex Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £83.33 - £95.00 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Complex Needs Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Lincoln. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students who require tailored support in their learning journey.

Responsibilities of a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with complex needs, including those with physical, cognitive, and sensory challenges.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting lesson activities to suit each student’s needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support the holistic development of students.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that encourages confidence, independence, and engagement.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching team and parents.


Requirements of a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people with complex needs is essential.
  • A calm, patient, and understanding approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies or therapeutic approaches is a plus.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
