Teaching Assistant
Location: Hook
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistants to join schools across Hook. Whether you are seeking flexibility with a day-to-day role or a more long-term, consistent opportunity, this position is ideal for those looking to make a meaningful difference in students' lives.

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work alongside teachers to provide vital support for students’ academic, social, and emotional development. Your role will be key in ensuring students receive the encouragement and resources they need to succeed in their studies and beyond.

Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help them with learning tasks.
  • Assist with lesson preparation and the delivery of learning materials.
  • Encourage active participation from students and foster a positive classroom environment.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and areas needing improvement.
  • Promote positive behaviour and ensure students remain focused and engaged in lessons.
  • Supervise students during lunch, break times, and other non-classroom activities.
  • Contribute to the development of an inclusive learning environment that supports every student.

Requirements that we’re looking for in a Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in an educational setting is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field would be beneficial.
  • CACHE Level 3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare, or similar qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students effectively.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible in a range of classroom settings.
  • A genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and how it applies to the role of a Teaching Assistant.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
