Teaching Assistant
Location: Andover
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

If so, GSL Education are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants (TA) to join schools across Andover. This flexible role offers the opportunity to either work on a day-to-day basis or take on a long-term position, perfect for those who want to contribute to the success and well-being of students.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in their academic, social, and emotional development. By working alongside teachers, you will help foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities for a TA:

  • Provide one-to-one support or work with small groups of students to help them achieve their learning objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of lesson materials under the direction of the teaching staff.
  • Encourage student participation and maintain a positive atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Track student progress and provide feedback to teachers to ensure continuous development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support students in making appropriate choices.
  • Supervise students during breaks and other non-classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students’ overall well-being.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive school environment.

Teaching Assistant Experience & Qualification:

  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in an educational setting is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable.
  • CACHE Level 3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare, or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support students.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and how to assist in its delivery.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
